A pop-up gin bar is opening on London’s first floating park in time for World Gin Day

Nothing says summer like sipping a gin and tonic in the sun – so why not celebrate World Gin Day and London’s warming weather at a pop-up gin bar on a floating park.

Lockhouse and Merchant Square will launch a new bar – called the Botanical Bar – on London’s first “Floating Pocket Park” in Paddington Basin on the Grand Union Canal. The bar opens on 10 June – just in time to celebrate World Gin Day – and will serve a range of gins and gin-based cocktails with decadent ingredients like rhubarb-infused gin, fresh lavender sugar syrup and freshly picked herbs.

Naturally, G&Ts will be a main attraction, and the bar will have a special menu for the summer favourite using a variety of gins and mixers from The London Essence Company that includes Classic London Tonic, Grapefruit and Rosemary Tonic, Bitter Orange and Elderflower Tonic and Delicate Ginger Ale.

If you want to learn more about mixing drinks for yourself or find your favourite gin, the Botanical Bar will host cocktail making classes and gin tastings. The bar will be open until 19 August on Thursdays and Fridays from 12 noon until 9 pm.
